In 1919, Italian businessmanErcole Marelli, in cooperation with Fiat established small workshops called Fimm for the production of magnets for the automotive and aerospace industries. Production of other auto parts has been added later like batteries, wipers and electrical components. Then the company changed its name to Magneti Marelli - the factory began to manufacture batteries for submarines and light rail systems. In 1935 cooperation with Bosch was started.
